Systems engineering for UK care providers and professional practices

Protect confidential data. Keep essential systems running.

We find and fix security weaknesses in the systems your practice relies on, and test whether you can recover when something goes wrong.

For UK care providers, legal firms, accountants, and clinical practices handling sensitive client or patient records. We work alongside your existing IT provider on a clear scope with fixed pricing.

Step 01

Know where you are exposed

We check who can access your systems, how connected devices and suppliers connect to them, and whether your backups actually restore to working services.

Step 02

Get weaknesses fixed

We implement agreed improvements alongside your existing IT provider, with clear boundaries, minimal disruption, and fixed pricing.

Step 03

See the evidence

You receive documented findings and empirical test results showing what was changed, what works, and what still needs attention.

Our technical inspection

What we check during a review

With automated scanning and AI-assisted attacks, an unsegmented camera, vendor backdoor, or untested backup can be discovered and breached in minutes rather than days.

Instead of generic checklist questionnaires, we conduct practical technical tests on your site to evaluate real security boundaries and actual recovery capability.

Area 01

Access controls & data pathways

We map exactly where sensitive data travels: who has access, where logs and backups are stored, and what level of access external software vendors and support contractors hold.

  • Supplier and third-party remote access audit
  • Password policy vs. hardware authentication
  • Mapping external cloud sync and data exports
Area 02

Connected devices & separation

Physical security hardware must never create internal vulnerabilities. We test whether security cameras, door-entry equipment, or visitor Wi-Fi can reach confidential records.

  • Verification of CCTV and door controller network separation (VLANs)
  • Testing visitor Wi-Fi isolation from internal workstations
  • Shielding older diagnostic and imaging PCs
Area 03

Disaster recovery & line failover

A confirmation email from an automated backup system is not proof of recovery. We restore an agreed system to staging hardware and measure real elapsed recovery time.

  • Timed non-production backup restore test
  • Target recovery time (RTO) and acceptable data loss limits (RPO)
  • Testing automatic phone failover during broadband cuts

Visualising the isolation boundary

How physical devices, public-facing services, and internal practice records are compartmentalised to prevent lateral movement.

Documented evidence

What you receive at the end of the review

Empirical recovery record

Exact timed restore logs from non-production drills. Demonstrates actual recovery minutes, not theoretical estimates.

Timed drill proof

Device isolation map

A clear physical and logical audit map documenting every connected camera, terminal, Wi-Fi access point, and supplier route.

Incumbent action plan

Prioritised, plain-English instructions your existing IT provider can easily verify, execute, and maintain going forward.

Physical & network resilience

Residential care operator in North West London

Completed September 2026 · 2-week on-site review
The operational risk

Bridged cameras and fragile telephony

The home relied on cloud-hosted phones that cut out whenever street-level broadband dipped. In addition, 16 IP security cameras and visitor Wi-Fi operated on the exact same network as computers handling confidential resident care plans.

Our intervention

Network isolation and cellular backup

We separated all security cameras, door controllers, and visitor devices into isolated virtual network zones (VLANs), preventing any unauthorised movement between devices (lateral traversal). We deployed an automated 4G cellular backup route for the on-site telephone switchboard (PBX) and ran a controlled recovery drill.

Demonstrated result

Verified recovery test

Simulated fibre severance triggered an automated 8-second failover to cellular without dropping active family emergency calls. A non-production recovery drill restored 18 months of care records in 18 minutes with zero disruption to staff handovers.

Web application & server hardening

Worst-case containment for a public-facing web platform

Completed October 2026 · Production platform review
The operational risk

Broad access and code vulnerability exposure

In standard setups, web application processes hold direct read access to database passwords, security certificates, and underlying system tools. If a public web flaw emerges (such as a PHP vulnerability or third-party software defect), an attacker could read customer records, alter source files to leave permanent backdoors, or compromise the entire server.

Our intervention

Privilege stripping and tamper-proof sandboxing

We confined the web service inside a strict sandbox. The public web software was completely stripped of administrative ('sudo') privileges and barred from reading master database credentials or private security keys. We locked executable files and framework caches as read-only, moved internal traffic off open network ports into locked system channels, and established an automated release process with instantaneous rollbacks.

Demonstrated result

Verified blast-radius containment

In controlled breach drills simulating malicious script execution directly within the web runtime, the blast radius was 100% contained: zero access to sensitive credentials, zero ability to alter server files, and zero route to neighbouring services. Emergency security updates and one-command rollbacks were tested and verified in under 10 seconds without dropping user sessions.
